Yesterday I bought a printer that is capable of printing on CD's and it re-kindled my interest in making mix tapes, or I guess Mix CD's. I also was recently in Polyester Books in Melbourne, which has the largest selection of books I personally would like to own outside my friend Cousin Larry's house, and saw a copy of Thurston Moore's Mix Tape book. It looked awesome and I read a bit in the store but couldn't afford the $30+ price tag. This along with the printer is responsible for the first mix CD I have made in over 4 years. I find though, that when I make a mix tape I can't listen to for at least 2 months after I've made it because I listened to the songs over and over again during the creation phase that they've lost all appeal. Does anyone else find that, or am I just barmy?.

Anyways, here is the track listing. Let me know what you think.

1. We're Cheerleaders - From the cast of Bring it On!
2. Le Temps d'Y Penser - Erick Saint-Laurent
3. Roadrunner - The Modern Lovers
4. California Sun - The Ramones
5. Snakeface - Throwing Muses
6. Let It All Hang Out - The Hombres
7. Miss You - The Roling Stones
8. Caring is Creepy - The Shins
9. Sunny - The Boogie Pimps
10. Crazy Chick - Charlotte Church
11. Chewing Gum - Annie
12. You Can Do It - Ice Cube
13. TKO - Le Tigre
14. Burning Down The House - Tom Jones feat. The Cardigans
15. Cool for Cats - The Squeeze
16. I'm Eighteen - Alice Cooper
17. Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver
18. Who's Ya Daddy - Gerling
19. Giddy Up - Salt 'n' Pepa
20. Trick Me - Kellis
21. New Slang - The Shins
22. Danke Shoen - Wayne Newton
23. No Sleep Till Brooklyn - The Beastie Boys

It's a bit all over the place, but I figure that's what makes mix tapes fun. Cheers.

Name's Chris, I definitely enjoy mixtapes. I like making them, and I imagine I'd enjoy receiving them too. People don't make them too much anymore though, for obvious reasons.

I listen to a lot of stuff. I'd list bands but I'll just post my top 5 labels and a band attached and you'll get the idea: Asian Man Record (Alkaline Trio) Fat Wreck Chords (The Lawrence Arms) Jade Tree (Lifetime) No Idea (Against Me!) Dischord (Fugazi). Have a nice day!

hey. today i was looking for a good mix tape community, and found that they're all either a.) inactive or b.) snotty kids using mix tapes and cds as a vehicle to belittle others for not being cool enough. i didn't like that, i just wanted to see what other people were listening to. so i made this, and i think you should participate.

you can post whatever you want. like tapes you're working on, or album art, or music you think people should check out, or "hey, do you remember that fucking song?" or "i need songs that have to do with hospitals." see, like that.

i make a lot of mix tapes, and i think you should too. because mix tapes are better than no mix tapes [or cds.]

also, the album i'm listening to right now is way too insane.
